To acquire validity and accreditation in the ministry among the general population, we accepted the offer to join the UU church. In 2012, we became Eric Michel Ministries International, a Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship, opting for Baptist Worship with the Reverend Marie.
Our Sunday Services are the same as any other Baptist Congregation, except on the last Sunday of the month, when you will be in an Universal Christ Tradition. In both cases, we have open communion every Sunday.
Until now, everything has been according to Biblical and/or Traditions. Where it is different is the teaching. We go beyond the fundamentalist teaching and go to the roots of Christianity explained via a modern view of a TRINIDIAN GOD experience named the COSMIC CHRIST.
The term “Christology” refers to approaches that begin with the divinity and pre-existence of Christ as the Logos (the Word), as expressed in the prologue to the Gospel of John (John 1:1–14). These approaches interpret the works of Christ in terms of his divinity. Christology from above was emphasized in the ancient Church, beginning with Ignatius of Antioch in the second century. On the other hand, the term “Christology” refers to approaches that begin with the human aspects and the ministry of Jesus (including the miracles, parables, etc.) and move towards his divinity and the mystery of the incarnation.
The concept of “Cosmic Christology,” first elaborated by Saint Paul, focuses on how Christ changed the nature of the cosmos. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin SJ (1881 – 1955) was a French idealist philosopher and Jesuit priest who trained as a paleontologist and geologist and took part in the discovery of Peking Man. He conceived the vitalist idea of the Omega Point (a maximum level of complexity and consciousness towards which he believed the universe was evolving). He developed Vladimir Vernadsky’s concept of the noosphere. Although many of Teilhard’s writings were censored by the Catholic Church during his lifetime because of his views on original sin, Teilhard has been posthumously praised by Pope Benedict XVI and other eminent Catholic figures. Pope Francis cited his theological teachings in the 2015 encyclical, Laudato si. The biologist Jeremy Griffith described Teilhard as a “visionary” philosopher and a contemporary “truth-sayer” or “prophet.”
The EMMI core concept is: “There is One Cosmic Reality Principle and Presence in the Universe, commonly called Christ.”
Our Teaching From:
Fr. Robert Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D., the President and co-founder of Magis, is a Catholic Priest in the Society of Jesus and former President of Gonzaga University. Faith and reason are two wings on which the human spirit rises to contemplate truth. ~Saint John Paul II: Fides et Ratio
Fr. Richard Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher who witnessed the universal awakening within Christian mysticism and the Perennial Tradition. He is a Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fr. Richard’s teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy, practices of contemplation and self-emptying, expressing itself in radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized.
The Omega Center seeks to facilitate a deepening of human consciousness by allowing people to engage with science and theology through the lens of Sr. Ilia Delio’s work.
