✠ What is the Cenacle?
The Cenacle is a place of prayer.
Not defined by walls, but by hearts united in Christ.
It recalls the Upper Room, where the Apostles gathered with the Blessed Virgin Mary, persevered in prayer, awaiting the coming of the Holy Spirit.
✠ A Life of Prayer
The Cenacle is open to all who desire to enter into a deeper life of prayer.
It is marked by:
A simple and faithful offering of time to God.
- Silence
- Fidelity
- Perseverance
✠ Our Prayer
Those who enter the Cenacle are invited to unite themselves spiritually through:
- The Holy Rosary
- Meditation on the Gospel
- Eucharistic adoration (when possible)
- Intercession for the Church
- and the world
Each prayer, even hidden, participates in the mission of the Church
✠ In Union with Mary
The Cenacle is lived with the Blessed Virgin Mary.
She is:
- Mother
- Guide
- Model of prayer
In her presence, prayer becomes more attentive, more faithful, more fruitful.
✠ “Do whatever He tells you.”
✠ A Hidden Communion
Even when separated by distance, those who pray are united.
The Cenacle forms:
- A spiritual communion
- A silent fraternity
- A living offering
What is done in secret bears fruit in grace.
✠ Who Can Join?
The Cenacle is open to:
- Members of the Third Orders
- The faithful who seek a life of prayer
- Those discerning a deeper spiritual path
No obligation is imposed—only an invitation is given.
✠ A Simple Commitment
Those who wish may freely adopt a simple rhythm:
- A moment of daily prayer
- The Rosary (in whole or in part)
- A conscious offering of the day
Fidelity matters more than quantity.
✠ A Living Flame
The Cenacle is not an organization.
It is a flame.
A flame of prayer carried in hearts, sustained by grace, and offered for the salvation of souls.

The Cenacle from the Latin coenaculum, meaning: dining room

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cenacle on Mount Zion
The Cenacle (from the Latin cenaculum, “dining room”), also known as the Upper Room (from the Koine Greek anagaion and hyperōion, both meaning “upper room”), is a room in Mount Zion in Jerusalem, just outside the Old City walls, traditionally held to be the site of the Last Supper, the final meal that, in the Gospel accounts, Jesus held with the apostles.
According to the Christian Bible, the Cenacle was a place where the apostles continued to gather after the Last Supper, and it was also the site where the Holy Spirit alighted upon the twelve apostles on Pentecost, with Matthias having been “numbered with the eleven apostles” to replace Judas in Acts 1:25.
The site is administered by the Israeli authorities and is part of a building holding what is known as “David’s Tomb” on its ground floor.

Cenacle Prayer Group: Embracing the Call of Our Blessed Mother. She has asked that the laity, especially families and children, be included in her Movement. The Cenacle comprises a Rosary, Songs, Meditation, Consecration, Petitions, Thanksgiving and a reading of Faustina’s words from her “Book.”
EMMI Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary
As Mary and the apostles did, a group of committed Catholics gathered in the Upper Room. Under Mary’s mantle, the Cenacle Prayer Group meets weekly to pray the Rosary. It meets online on Tuesday evenings at 20:00 (8 p.m.). Anyone and all are welcome.

A prayer cenacle is a small, Catholic faith-sharing group that gathers to pray, often focusing on the Rosary, scripture, and the Holy Spirit, mimicking the “Upper Room” where the Apostles and Mary gathered. These groups commonly focus on Eucharistic adoration, Divine Mercy, or the Flame of Love devotion to foster spiritual growth.

Key Aspects of a Prayer Cenacle:
- Purpose: To create a “contemplative presence” in the world, often praying for priests, families, and peace.
- Structure: Common elements include an invocation to the Holy Spirit, recitation of the Rosary, reading Scripture, and sometimes a consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
- Origin: The term “Cenacle” refers to the Cenacle of Jerusalem, the Upper Room of the Last Supper.
- Types: There are special cenacles for priests (often under the Marian Movement of Priests) and the Divine Mercy

Typical Cenacle Structure:
- Invocation to the Holy Spirit: Requesting guidance (e.g., “Come Holy Spirit” prayers).
- The Holy Rosary: Often with meditation.
- Reading/Reflection: Sharing on Scripture, the Diary of St. Faustina, or other spiritual texts.
- Prayers for the Church: Intercessions for the Pope, priests, and the world.
- Conclusion: Often ending with an Act of Consecration.
Many cenacles can be held in homes or parishes, often gathering weekly or monthly

What Is a Prayer of Petition?
A prayer of petition is any prayer that asks God for something. When we ask for wisdom, direction, healing, etc., we pray petitions. It is the most common type of prayer, but there’s nothing common about how God’s power moves through them for our good and the good of others.

What is a cenacle?
The model of the cenacle is based on Mary and the Apostles in the Upper Room in Jerusalem, where both the Last Supper (the first Eucharist) was held by Christ the night before his Crucifixion and where the Holy Spirit descended upon them at Pentecost, thus giving birth to the Church (Acts 2). Families are encouraged to start their own prayer cenacle at home. The cenacle should be dedicated to, and focused on, the Blessed Virgin Mary, as Spouse of the Holy Spirit, for it is through her that Our Lord came to us. So, we ask for the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit through her as his chosen Spouse. The cenacle is at the heart of this Jubilee Year of the Holy Spirit. Through it, may we ask the Holy Spirit to enkindle the fire of his love in our lives and show each of us our path to witnessing our faith and serving the Kingdom of God in our homes and communities.
