- Apostles’ Creed: The Christian Church recognizes two major creeds, the Nicene and the Apostles’, as statements of belief that were upheld as authoritative by church councils in the first centuries of the church.
- Apostolic Succession refers to the passing on of the Faith and Fellowship of the Apostles. This succession is carried on through a variety of means. The Scripture, historic Creeds, Sacraments, and the lineage of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons refer only to those who are truly faithful in apostolic succession to fulfill the Great Commission.
- Baptism is the sacrament of initiation into the life of the Church.
- House of Bishops: Bishops who meet regularly to confer on questions concerning the nature and work of the EMMI.
- To consecrate something or someone literally means “to set aside for holy purposes. The term is used to refer to prayers over bread and wine in the service of Holy Communion and for the ordination of a priest to the office of bishop. And the devotees to Holy Mary.
- Deacon: An ordained office that embodies and lives out Christ’s servant ministry. A Catholic deacon is an ordained member of the clergy who serves the community through the ministries of the Word, liturgy, and charity. They assist priests and bishops at Mass, preach homilies, and can officiate at baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
- Holy Order: EMMI recognizes three “orders”: bishop, priest, and deacon, who are set apart for ordained ministry. The offices of bishops, priests and deacons are outlined in Scripture and formally established in the early Church.
- Laity: A member of the Christian community not ordained into Holy Orders
- Liturgy is a rite for public worship offered to God. It typically includes prayers, Scripture reading, preaching, songs and sacraments.
- Ministers are lay or ordained persons in charge of a group or classes, or appointed to a specific job. According to our Government, all clergy priests, imams, rabbis, pastors, etc., are Ministers of the Cult.
- Sacraments are defined as visible signs of spiritual grace given by Christ. There are seven Sacraments: 1) Baptism, 2) the Lord’s Supper (also called the Holy Eucharist or Holy Communion), 3) Confirmation, 4) Extreme Unction, 5) Marriage, 6) Holy Order, 7) Penance
- The Board of Elders meets regularly to review and direct the mission, strategy, and practices of The Ministries and its volunteer employees.
