SEE: Independent Catholic VS Old Catholic Church
✠ Progressive Catholicism is a reform-minded movement within the Catholic Church that seeks to align traditional faith with modern social values, human rights, and inclusion. Adherents emphasize social justice, individual conscience, and environmental stewardship, and often advocate for structural reforms such as women’s ordination and LGBTQ+ acceptance.
✠ The movement encompasses a wide spectrum of believers, from those pushing for change within the mainstream Church to communities that have formed entirely independent denominations.
✠ Key pillars of progressive Catholicism include:
- Social & Economic Justice: A strong focus on Catholic Social Teaching, prioritizing care for the poor, immigrants, and marginalized populations.
- Comprehensive Pro-Life View: Often expanding the pro-life stance to encompass anti-poverty measures, healthcare equity, and the prevention of discrimination against marginalized groups.
- Inclusivity & Equality: Support for LGBTQ+ rights within the Church and advocacy for the ordination of women to the diaconate and priesthood.
- Individual Conscience: An emphasis on personal moral reasoning and discernment, rather than strict adherence to every institutional directive.

We have been progressive Christians since 2012

The visit of John
John, an Ottawa resident and member of the LGBTQ community, was referred to us by Progressive Christianity.org, and we met at our Manse. Marie prepared a cookie plate and coffee.

The issue that I have with John is his request to be exorcised; I wasn’t expecting that kind of help, and I feel sorry telling him that I do not perform exorcisms of any kind. He was deceived and left us after an hour in our company.
I have always been annoyed that I haven’t been able to help someone. It took 10 years to find some training, and now I am certified.
